Fees and Rebates
Seeking therapy is an investment in your well-being. The information below outlines current fees, Medicare rebates, and funding options available through Wisdom Psychotherapy.
Session Fees
Wisdom Psychotherapy provides individual counselling and psychotherapy for adults aged 16 years and over.
Individual Therapy
Standard Consultation (50–60 minutes) $190
After-Hours Consultation (after 5:00 pm) $210
Couples Therapy
60-minute session $220*
*Please note that Medicare rebates are not available for couples therapy.
Fees are payable on the day of the appointment.
Medicare Rebates
Josh Sasai is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW) and registered Medicare provider.
Clients who have a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) and a referral from their GP or psychiatrist may be eligible for a Medicare rebate.
Current Medicare rebate:
$87.25 or more per session
Medicare rebates are generally deposited directly into your nominated bank account following payment.
Please note that Medicare rebate amounts are determined by Medicare and may change over time.
Private Health Insurance
Some private health insurance funds provide rebates for counselling or psychotherapy services delivered by Accredited Mental Health Social Workers.
Eligibility and rebate amounts vary depending on your insurer and level of cover. Please contact your health fund directly to confirm your entitlement.
TAC, WorkSafe and Other Funding Options
Wisdom Psychotherapy accepts a range of approved third-party funding arrangements, including:
Transport Accident Commission (TAC)
WorkSafe Victoria
Open Arms (Bupa)
Victims of Crime / Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS)
NDIS (self-managed and plan-managed participants)

Telehealth Appointments
Telehealth appointments are available for clients throughout Australia via secure video consultation.
Many Medicare, TAC, WorkSafe, Open Arms, and privately funded clients are able to access services through Telehealth.
Cancellation Policy
Appointments cancelled between 24 and 48 hours before the scheduled appointment may incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the session fee.
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice will generally incur the full session fee.
Cancellation fees are not usually claimable through Medicare or third-party funding bodies.
